Proforestree is owned and run by one of Ontario’s Registered Professional Foresters (RPFs), arborists, and Managed Forest Tax Incentive Plan approvers, Joel McCracken. Joel is a fifth-generation woodlot owner originating from New Brunswick. He graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a degree in Forest and Environmental Management in 2006. He became an ISA-certified arborist in 2014.
Joel’s career started as a tree planter in NB, but really as a kid following his dad and grandad around the woods. Before University Joel spent years working on family land implementing a forest management plan – cutting, thinning, and planting trees. His summers during University were spent in Northern Ontario running large-scale tree plant operations and a First Nations Natural Resources Youth Employment Program.
